Couple relationship quality, in recent decades, has become a field of interest by researchers. It has been identified as an important indicator of well-being and health. The aim of the present study was to
investigate the role of marital relationship quality in prediction of subjective well-being and happiness among married university students. For this purpose, a sample consisting of 191 subjects were
selected by multistage random sampling from married students residing in dormitories of Tehran State Universities. They answered to questionnaires of Couple Relationship Quality, Well-being (It includes
two subscales, life satisfaction and psychological health) and Oxford Happiness. The data was analyzed using statistical correlation and regression methods. Findings showed that there is a significant positive relationship with couple relationship quality, happiness and subjective well-being; the quality of couple relationship can be explained as follows; 20/7% of the variance in psychological health, 23/1% of the variance in couple life satisfaction, 27/3% of the variance in subjective well-being, and 27/7% of happiness variance. It can be concluded that the quality of couple relationship can be predictor of their subjective well-being. So, improvement of the couple relationship quality as a suitable way to promote psychological health, happiness and marital life satisfaction is suggested.
