Abstract

In many criminals it seems that failure of identity and mental health
problems are among the most important causes in the occurrence of
crimes. Mental health of women prisoners as an at-risk group is very
important. This research aims to study the prediction role of crimes in
the mental disorder & identity style of women prisoners in order to
facilitate the relevant actions which the authorities will take to reduce
the likelihood of re-offense and offenders returning to the prison. 200
women prisoners of financial crimes, debauchery, murder and murder
participation, robbery and drug addiction and trafficking (each n =
40) were selected by sampling quotas – randomized. Participants
were administered SCL-90 and Brzvnsky identity style tests. The style
identity of murder and murder participation group was normative;
identity style of immoral criminals was Informational, while the style
identity of the other groups was confusion. It should be noted that,
there is no significant difference between the criteria of women
prisoners for OCD-related disorders, depression, phobias and
paranoia. The majority of women prisoners are affected with at least
one mental disorder and their identity style is confused. Therefore, the
need to develop training programs for prevention, diagnosis and
treatment is felt.
