Abstract

The goal of this study was determining predicting factors of marital intimacy of Isfahani women. Method was correlation. The statistical population of the study included 200 Isfahani married women selected by cluster random sampling. Then women responded to questionnaires of marital intimacy, NEO-FFI, Revised Adult Attachment Scale, the Communication Skills Test-Revised, interpersonal conflict management style, the Communication Patterns Questionnaire (CPQ), pathology of couples’ interaction with family spouse, and a researcher-made demographic questionnaire. The data was analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression correlation coefficient and SPSS-19. The results showed that personality traits, attachment styles, communication skills, communication patterns, conflict management styles, pathology of couples’ interaction with family spouse and women’s age have significant correlation with marital intimacy. Also, the results of stepwise regression showed that mentioned factors are components of predicting factors of marital intimacy. Finally, predicting marital intimacy equation was obtained based on unstandardized coefficients. The personality traits, attachment styles, communication skills, communication patterns, conflict management styles, pathology of couples’ interaction with family spouse and women’s age are components of predicting factors of marital intimacy
