At the end of the educating sessions, both groups completed Baumrind parenting questionnaire. The statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS software. After testing the homogeneity of variance, analysis of research hypotheses was done by using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The results of pre-test and post-test were as follows: Educating the parenting style results in a decrease (P<0.01) level of permissive parenting style and authoritarian parenting style.
The effect of educating parenting style on choosing accurate type of reasonable authoritative parenting style (P<0.01) is statistically significant. The MANCOVA statistical methods showed that educating parenting styles has a significant multivariate effect on the three
parenting styles (the dependent variable). so, educating parenting styles results in changing the attitude of first time pregnant women on the parenting style issue.
